Easter Tablescape — Bunnies, Fruit, and Flowers

This Easter represents a milestone for our family. My daughter is hosting Easter dinner.

I’ll be helping her to create a beautiful table for her party, but since we have vastly different styles, I just HAD to set my own table with our traditional Easter decorations — my collection of Easter bunnies and fruit plates.

Our table linens were a wedding gift and I still love the intricate embroidery on them. I bought the little plant pot napkin rings years ago at Waccamaw — remember them? Mom’s Chantilly sterling flatware also came out for the party.

Each place setting has a Pier 1 charger, a Four Crown Claridge dinner plate, and a fruit salad plate. There are six different patterns on the fruit plates.

Every place setting also has a different Beatrix Potter animal in a “nest” of grass on a pink Depression glass saucer.

Woodland bunnies guard the Japanese  porcelain lidded server, with floral etched glass goblets complementing the natural themes in the different pieces. The stained glass votives were purchased from Partylite years ago and always come out for Easter.

The centerpiece features daffodils rescued from my garden during the snow and tulips and mums from Trader Joe’s. I tucked more bunny figurines among the flowers.

Our Easter tablescape is not sophisticated and it’s not trendy. It represents years of collecting and curating beautiful pieces that are both sentimental and meaningful.

  1. I think that’s what a table – especially one for a high Holy day – is supposed to be: a collection of the things you have loved and shared with loved ones over the years! It’s all about bringing out the best of the best in what you own, putting it together in a way that will look great, and then enjoying it for all it’s worth. THAT is what makes a tablescape great!

I hope you and “Barbie” have a good time creating the other tablescape together. That sounds like a fun mother-daughter project even if your tastes are miles apart. At least you’re spending time together!

Happy Easter to you and yours!

  2. I remember Waccamaw, and Party Lite! I never did get around to doing an Easter tablescape, just have been too busy. And we won’t be home for Easter dinner anyway. Yours is so very pretty, love all of your things you’ve collected, and that makes the best table, I think. Featuring this on my Link Party Features board on Pinterest. Thank you for sharing this and your beautiful teal birds table, too, at History and Home this week. Take care – Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com

  3. Jennie, I love it when you post a tablescape. The embroidered tablecloth and napkins are not only beautiful to look at but are also perfect for Easter. What could say Spring and Easter more than butterflies and flowers. You have displayed a wonderful collection of Beatrix Potter bunnies in their nests of Easter grass and your rescued daffodils make a lovely centerpiece nestled into the white basket with the tulips and mums. Have a blessed Easter….. Candy

  4. I think your table is awesome! I love your flowers, linens, bunnies and dishes. They make the whole table as special as the day! Have a Happy Easter!
    Blessings My Friend,

  5. Your flower pot napkin rings are adorable. I love your beautifully embroidered linens! The charm of your table full of collected items is unique and special. I hope you enjoy your Easter!

  6. A collected tabletop is the best kind. Thanks for sharing your pretty Easter table. We are going out for brunch, so I didn’t set an Easter table this year. Happy Easter to you!
